Saguaro
Saguaro is a widget manager for Palm OS. PdaPerformance has a beta test version out you can test.
I had to reboot the phone it froze the first time. Otherwise things went smooth. There is not much there yet. It features OSX style widgets, a weather and CNN widget are in the beta version. It is gorgeous eye candy, and nice.
What isn’t clear is if it keeps your data connection open, which would kill your battery right quick or if it only does updates on demand?
I didn’t see any of the other features in the demo but the software looks promising and I’ll be checking out a full demo as soon as it’s available.
AOL IM for Palm
AOL IM Palm the older version is free, it does all the things I need.
I don’t often use the IM on the phone. SMS is more practical. But sometimes you need AIM to contact people. I keep it on the phone. I’ve used it maybe a dozen times in 4 or so years. But it is one of those things that when you need it, you need it. So better to have it set up and ready to go on the phone even if you don’t think you’ll need it.
