It’s not easy. And every time a way is found to do so Sprint finds a way to stop it.
Attach the picture to the email. Then you can send picture mail by using phone_number@carrier.com There is a full list here of the carrier’s mail server settings. But that requires you to know the phone number and the carrier of the person you wish to send the picture.

Sprint is claiming to be working on a WM MMS application. Sprint usually takes at least a year to get an update out to a phone so I wouldn’t hold my breath. But it looks like it has at least come to their attention many users would like this.
