My Palm
MyPalm is a new website for palm users.
I wandered around there a bit today. Mostly it is lists of various software programs, accessories and other things for sale.
There are some ‘How tos’ for very new users, and supposedly you can get 24-7 tech support. There is a phone number for users who are registered members of the site. ( Membership is free )
Software updates will also be posted on this site.
I’m not seeing anything that wasn’t already on Palm’s site. It’s set up a little nicer but you do have to register at this site unlike you do at the main site.
SD card backups
The easiest way to collect pictures off your Treo or put music on your Treo is to use a SD card reader.
These readers are available anywhere computer stuff is sold. I’ve seen them as low as $10 and as high as $50. The $10 version will work just fine.
There is a usb connection on the reader and a slot to put the SD card into. Pop the card out of your Treo and into the reader, then just put the reader into any open usb slot.
It will show up as a hard drive on your desktop. From there you can drag photos from the card to your desktop or drag music or other files to the card.
DCIM is the directory in which you’ll find your pictures. If you have an AUDIO directory use that for music, or create the directory if it is not there. Create folders on the card same as you would on your computer. The PALM->LAUNCHER directory is where you’ll find most of the programs you have stored on your card.
