Camera Phone Tips

February 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

Digital Photography School has ‘13 Tips for Improving Camera Phone Photos. Following are the ones I find most useful and some adjustments to her tips.

Use good lighting. Camera phones don’t do well in dark scenes, you have no flash. They take their best pictures in a medium light rather than a bright light.

Get close If you try to take a big picture you’ll end up with tiny unrecognizable objects.

Keep it still Cut the blur, the camera phone needs all the help it can get.

Use Gimp to clean up your images, not the camera software.

Don’t use the zoom it is a software zoom not a physical zoom and will decrease the detail in your photo.

Take lots of pictures practice makes perfect.

Go where no one has gone before

Shoot lights at dusk not at night. If you want good shots of holiday lights, store signs etc. Take the shots at dusk not full dark.

Keep your lens clean

Use the highest resolution the camera will allow

Blog your photos Go to Blogger Mobile and set up a free blog. You can then text message your pictures to go@blogger.com and have them appear on your blog. That’s how the pictures get to this blog.
