ATT has said it would be opening bright and early at 8am to sell 3G iPhones. Now TUAW is reporting that Apple stores will also open at 8am Friday to begin selling the phones.
W00t! That means waiting inside an air conditioned mall instead of 100′ heat in Houston.
When I checked last weekend the Apple store had planned to close at 5pm and reopen at 6pm to sell phones. 8am seems like a much better option.
Apple’s website now lists 8 am as the selling time.

The iPhone visual voice mail is one of my favorite things about the phone. Now you can get visual voice mail on your other smart phones, Palm, Windows Mobile etc. This is a free service.
YouMail provides consumers with a free cell phone voicemail service that allows them to better express their personality and be more productive. YouMail users can personalize greetings based on caller ID – recording greetings themselves, or easily choosing from a large and growing library of user-generated greetings and away messages. YouMail lets users express themselves differently to their friends, family and co-workers, while maintaining a standard greeting for unknown callers. YouMail users can also access their cell phone voicemail over the Web or in their e-mail, to easily share special voicemails and save them forever.

I seriously do not know why Apple failed to include this. It wasn’t easy hunting down the various pieces but here it is Silence.m4r
Why would you want a silent ringtone? I use it for telemarketers, ex’s, and anyone not in my contact list. It simplifies life. Simple is good, Apple of all the tech companies should get that.
